The Importance Of Being Kind To Yourself

One of the simplest things you can do right now to take your life to the next (higher) level is to start being kind to yourself.
What do I mean by that? I mean directed, focussed, dynamic action and not just a nice thought. It is the act of kindness that really makes a difference.
In the last eight months I have accomplished more than I have done in the last eight years! How? I started being kind to myself. You can do that too.
Start doing the three powerful, fun and simple things that I am about to tell you and your world would change pretty quickly. Guaranteed!
Three ways to be kind to yourself
1. Positive affirmations. Affirmation is an empowering statement that you say to yourself repeatedly, as if you already have what you desire, even if you do not feel it being true yet in a physical world. With practice, you will start to believe it and the way you view yourself would change. It is more powerful to say affirmations out loud in front of the mirror several times, because you would be looking into your own eyes. Notice, how you feel while doing it. Just let it be, do not judge.
Write affirmations down several times (10 or 20), because when we put something on paper, it feels like it is real. Your brain would also start to reprogram itself into a different kind of thinking, which would enable you to take a different kind of action. Examples of affirmations: "I am at peace with everyone around me. No person, place or thing has any power over me. I am the power and authority in my world".
2. Celebrate your success, big and small. Create a ritual of celebrating your victories that you can easily use through the day. For example, you could pat yourself on the back, or give yourself a high five. But you must really do it! The action of doing it would rewire your brain and make you think and act differently. Try it all out to see what suits you.
3. Recognise your inner beauty. The third powerful way of being kind to yourself is the one you can have the most fun with. So, every time you see your reflection in the mirror, or in any kind of glass surface, give yourself a little wink, or blow yourself a kiss or say ‘wow, don`t I look hot’. You will feel good. Silly, but good.
Why is it important to be kind to yourself?
Well, first of all, if you have children, they are constantly watching you and learning about themselves and the world. Starting with being kind to yourself would be a huge step for you and your family to have the best life you can possibly have.
Secondly, you want to feel happy and confident every day, performing your day-to-day tasks. When you use the exercises I will tell you about, you would feel good about yourself regardless of having a bad hair day. You would just feel good.
Thirdly, it is important to be kind to yourself so that you can price your products in a right way (or ask for a pay rise). Are you charging what you are worth or are you charging much less than that? A simple act of being kind to yourself can transform your business or your career.
Go for it!
So, praise yourself, give yourself credit for the job well done, set yourself exciting challenging targets, because you know that you can reach them somehow. Forgive yourself when things do not happen the way you planned. It is not easy to do, but it is simple. You just need to be consistent and persistent.
